Overview
Hollywood, 1947: l'âge d'or du dessin animé. Acteurs humains et personnages dessinés se partagent le haut de l'affiche. Roger Rabbit, une des vedettes les plus populaires parmi les Toons, traverse une mauvaise passe. Trop amoureux de son épouse, la somptueuse Jessica, il n'arrive pas à se concentrer pendant ses tournages. R.K. Maroon, le patron du studio, décide de le ramener au bon sens en lui prouvant l'infidélité de Jessica. Pour cela, il engage le détective privé Eddie Valiant, une épave alcoolique qui, depuis que son frère a été tué par un Toon, voue à ceux-ci une haine farouche. Valiant réussit à prendre des photos compromettantes de Jessica en compagnie de Marvin Acme, grand spécialiste des farces et attrapes et propriétaire de Toonville, la ville des Toons.
